Kees-Jaap graduated from the Rotterdam Academy for Marine Engineers and served as marine engineer in various ranks on cargo ships and chemical tankers and is qualified as Chief Engineer. 
After 14 years at sea he joined Schoo & Co. as junior surveyor in 1999, became partner in 2007 and has been the owner since October 1, 2022. 
Kees-Jaap is experienced in all types of H&M and P&I claims including bunker disputes representing various Interests.
He has carried out numerous condition and evaluation surveys including special ship types like (mega)yachts, navy, pipe-laying and mining vessels. 
Kees-Jaap is a qualified operator of Ultrasonic test equipment for hatch covers.
